AWANA Grand Prix 04/26/09

Abe and Becca took part in the AWANA Grand Prix this year. Boy, was that an experiance! They decided two weeks before, that they wanted to do this. Keep in mind, I have never made a car like this, and Timm was only a boy when his Dad helped him. Grandpa helped us cut their basic shapes. Then the day before the race, nothing more was done. We nearly killed each other that day. With the painting shopping for weights because Abe's only weighed 2.5 oz., drilling holes like mad for the weights, hunting through junk for our postal scale, it is amazing we got to halfway decent cars. Neither one won a race, but it was a family effort and I think we even enjoyed it. We'll see if we try again next year. :)
